US Department says 4 Russian vessels supply oil to Syria
WASHINGTON, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- The U.S. Department of the Treasury has released a list of 16 vessels, including four Russia-registered vessels, allegedly supplying Iran-produced oil to Syria in 2016–2018, as seen by PRIME late on Tuesday.
The Treasury Department, the State Department and the U.S. Coast Guard also warned in a joint statement against a considerable risk of sanctions against all actors involved in oil deliveries to Syria.
Earlier on Tuesday, the U.S. introduced sanctions against Russian state-run companies Promsyryeimport and Global Vision Group on suspicion of oil supplies to Syria.
Member of Russian Federation Council’s international committee Oleg Morozov said that Russia will comply with its agreements with Syria despite the pressure.
